The Southeastern Simulation Consortium began when the EcO15 Initiative helped regional hospital and academic partners create a network of simulation labs to address the training and workforce development needs of healthcare providers in the region.
East Indiana Area Health Education Center now coordinates the Consortium and fosters collaboration, community partnerships, and research projects at simulation sites. Supporting the Simulation Consortium is an important part of East Indiana Area Health Education Center’s work to find, train, and keep healthcare professionals in our region of Indiana.
The original EcO-funded simulation sites are now charter members of the Southeastern Indiana Simulation Consortium, and additional organizations have joined as well. While the consortium will always have a regional focus on assisting members in the East Indiana AHEC service area, we welcome involvement from our neighbors outside the region.
Annual membership options are available for academic or clinical organizations at several levels:
- sites that have formal simulation programs (with manikins, with standard patients, or both)
- sites that are interested in using simulation to train students or professionals that don't have formal simulation programs of their own
- individual professionals or educators who wish to learn and share best practices for healthcare simulation
